Norwegian rights sold for Accidents Happen!

As a huge Nordic-crime fan I am SO please to announce that Accidents Happen will be published in Norway next year, following The Playdate (En Venn i Noden).

I spent summer 2012 with my family in an old house on a fjord in Norway writing the start of my new thriller The Hidden Girl, which is out in May. The Hidden Girl is about a couple, Will and Hannah Riley who move to an abandoned old house in rural Suffolk, but that stay in Norway influenced the story in many ways.

The Norwegian house's creaky attic stairs and dark basement windows were in my mind when I began to create my own 'Tornley Hall' in Suffolk. And this local book of historical photos of the fjord families that I found also gave me the root of the dark secret that Hannah discovers about the house.

I love hearing where other writers get their influences from, so over the next few months I'll be posting a few more photos of the places and people who inspired The Hidden Girl.
